Introduction to Mindfulness – Pilots Row. Tuesday 10.30 am
Frank Liddy – Director of the Belfast Mindfulness Centre
Participants will be introduced to the key theoretical and practice based principals of mindfulness.
Participants will learn as they become more fully aware of, and present to their emotions, they can begin to identify, observe and thereafter challenge and change negative thought and behavioural patterns.
This workshop will introduce participants to facilitator-led practical mindful strategies and meditative practice, which they can apply to their everyday life and work situation.
Welfare, Health & Wellbeing Advice on Victims and Survivors Service (VSS) schemes – Gasyard Centre. Tuesday 10.30 a.m.
Michaela Kinsella – Health & Wellbeing Worker Cúnamh & Michael Murphy – Advice NI
This workshop will provide an overview of the services available to victims and survivors of the conflict, as well as offering some practical advice regarding welfare and benefit changes.
Psychological Therapies for Trauma, Depression & Anxiety – Gasyard Centre. Wednesday 2.00 p.m.
James Logue – Trauma Counsellor, Carol McCauley – CBT Therapist and Karen McIntyre CBT-e Therapist.
This workshop will provide information on the various talking therapies provided at Cúnamh and their effectiveness in treatment of anxiety, depression and trauma. Case studies will be utilised to highlight some of the complexities involved in treatment and the challenges faced by both clients and therapists.
