My involvement with Cúnamh began twenty years ago when I became a volunteer for the Cunamh service which was tasked to support the Bloody Sunday Inquiry. At that time I was studying the Certificate in counselling at Magee. The model of counselling which appealed to me was person Centred Counselling. Since then I have developed myself professionally by attaining a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative counselling, as well as Diploma in Counselling and Degree in Trauma Studies.
I have also completed training in EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy over a two year period. Over the years I have completed many one and two day workshops in relevant areas of practice. Workshops such as Assist, Introduction to Psychological Trauma, Child Protection, Drugs and Alcohol Training.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, reading and spending time in Donegal. Presently I have four grandchildren and I like nothing more than spending time with them.
